Kurokiba Densetsu - Characters

Kurokiba Densetsu = Black Fang Legend

Characters in Order:

Shin - Shin is the main character. Despite a rough beginning to life, Shin is rather brave compared to other dogs his age. He does not know where he came from, and only remembers waking up beside Dex's mother, and being raised along side him. He and his best friend, Dex, are almost like brothers. Shin is not bothered by Dex's blindness, and helped him around as a pup when his siblings bullied him. He longs to find out where he came from and to find his true family. He found out he wasn't truely Dex's brother at a young age, but he had always considered Dex's family, his family, despite the breed difference. On his travels, he is accompanied by Dex. Currently, Shin is 2 years old.

Dex - Dex is Shin's best friend, and right-hand dog. Dex was born into a regular litter of German Shepherds, however, he was the only one to be born blind. Had his parents, Butch and Angela, not taken in Shin, he would have probably died of depression. He loves Shin like a brother, and vows to look after him as he did to him. Thanks to Shin's guidance, Dex can navigate as well as a dog with full eye-sight could. In fact, he is probably one of the best trackers known around some parts. Dex is currently 2 years old.

Tamotsu - Tamotsu is a key character in Kurokiba Densetsu. Tamotsu is the son of the mighty, and evil, wolf known as Orochi. Unlike his aggressive father, Tamotsu. He fled his clan in order to find help to defeat his father, as Orochi was plotting to take over all of Japan, and has already eliminated several clans that stood in his way. Tamotsu was the only one of his pack who saw this was wrong, apart from his mother, and left to find others to help him stop his father. He takes more after his mother, being respectful toward other species, even prey. He does not fight without reason, or justice and honour. He is also accompanied by two Dobermans, Koji and Kenji. Tamotsu is currently 1 year and 11 months old.

Koji - Koji is one of two Doberman brothers. Koji and his brother, Kenji, were raised by humans. Both of them were taken from their mother at almost birth, and hand-raised. They were trained by humans as assassin dogs, under-going dangerous missions. In one, Koji lost part of his left ear. However, their days as assassins didn't last. They were bought by a fairly rich family and were kept as guard doings. Koji seemed a bit more pampered than his brother, as he had a more gentle temper when it came to people. However, their days as assassins didn't last. They were bought by a fairly rich family and were kept as guard doings. When Tamotsu arrived and had asked for their help, Koji was nervous and didn't want to leave their pampered life. However, with much persuasion, he was convinced and went with Tamotsu along with his brother. Koji is currently 2 years and 6 months old.

Kenji - Kenji is one of two Doberman brothers. Kenji and his brother, Koji, were raised by humans. Both of them were taken from their mother at almost birth, and hand-raised. They were trained by humans as assassin dogs, under-going dangerous missions. In an accident, Kenji lost part of his right ear and got his tail broken, causing their trainers to have it docked off, leaving him with a slight nub in it's place. Ever since, he had become a little more aggressive toward humans, as he was proud of his tail and felt it unfair to have it taken from him. However, their days as assassins didn't last. They were bought by a fairly rich family and were kept as guard dogs. While his brother was pampered, Kenji was given less special treatment, but was loved all the same. He was more of the guard dog type rather than a lap-dog like his brother. When Tamotsu arrived and had asked for their help, Kenji jumped at the chance, and eagerly went with Tamotsu along with Koji, who he managed to convince. Kenji is currently 2 years and 6 months old.


Shiori - Shiori is a tough little Shiba Inu. Don't judge her by her size, Shiori is one snappy pup if you get on her bad side. She has lived with human's her entire life, along side a Rottweiler mutt named Naoki. She isn't one to like the outside much and hates getting her paws dirty, but will do so for the sake of defending her shy friend. Shiori is like a big-sister to her friend, despite the large size difference. Shiori's owners one day had a baby, and felt that two dogs would be too much of a responsibility. Due to Shiori being a bit snappy, and Naoki having a better temperament, Shiori was taken to a kennel and left there, until Naoki freed himself from their owners and came after her. He set her free, and they began to roam the streets together. Shiori is currently 2 years old.

Kyou - Kyou is a fiesty Shikoku-ken. Kyou hails from Hokkaido, in a small pack of mixed dogs. She was trained to become a guardian to an allied pack's dog, such as the agreement that was made when they allied. She was to be taken there as a pup, only a month old, and to be a gift to the leaders of the allied pack, and given to their son to be his guardian. However, they found their allies killed by the time they arrived, and only the shadow of a massive wolf loomed over. Despite the loss of their allies, Kyou still knows her purpose and trained hard so that she could set out to take revenge on the wolf that did this, and hopefully find any survivors. Kyou is 2 years and 3 months old.

Aoitora - Aoitora, or Aoi for short, is a hot-tempered Kai ken. He was born to a large pack of Kai ken dogs. He lived in the mountains and often travelled away from his pack into the human settlements, searching for food. One of his searches lead him to find a young Spaniel mix named Mayumi. She looked starved and lonely, so, despite his loner nature, he nursed her back to health. He didn't even return to his pack, as he was so occupied with Mayumi. By the time he was able to return, Mayumi wanted to accompany him, and he allowed it. However, by the time they returned to the mountains, Aoitora's pack had already been slaughtered by the wolf pack that was becoming increasingly dangerous. He found that a few pups had survived, but in a blind rage, he accidentally killed them. He stated he was just 'putting them out of their misery'. Now he travels in the forest and through the mountains with Mayumi as his companion. Aoitora is currently 3 years old.

Mayumi - Mayumi is a gentle Spaniel mix. Mayumi loved her owners. She wasn't overly pampered, or abused at all. She had a decent life. She enjoyed life to the fullest. However, her dream life didn't last. Her family left the home for some reason, Mayumi assumed they were going out shopping or something. But usually they'd take her with them unless it was an important event and dogs were not allowed. She waited the rest of the day for them, and deep into the night. Then she waited the whole week. Her owners didn't return. It was odd. Mayumi managed for some time, remembering how her owners filled up her food bowls, spilling the food bag by knocking it over, and managing to turn the tap on in order to drink water. But her food soon ran out, and she knew she couldn't survive on water alone. Knowing it'd be risky, she left her home in search of food. After many months, she couldn't find enough food. She gave up, laying down by the side of the road and waiting to die and decay. If it wasn't for a kind passer-by, a Kai ken called Aoitora, she would have died. He tended to her, and helped her get back on her feet. Ever since, she began to fall in love with Aoi, but never told him. She returned to the mountains with him, only to find his pack destroyed. She watched him kill some pups, and decided it was best to keep her feelings to herself for the time being. Mayumi is currently 3 years old.

Naoki - Naoki is a shy Rottweiler mutt. Due to the sheer size of him, he is probably also mixed with a Tosa. Naoki is a cowardly dog. Despite his own timid nature, he tends to be very loyal to his friend, Shiori, and will not abandon her no matter what it takes. He has known Shiori almost all his life, and they are best friends. When their owners one day had a baby, and felt that two dogs would be too much of a responsibility. They decided to keep Naoki because of his shy and gentle nature, and get rid of Shiori. Knowing he could not abandon his best friend, Naoki went to find her and found her in a kennel. After freeing her, they began to roam the streets together. Naoki is 1 year and 9 months old.
